The Cutest Kids

Random pictures from the last few days. Just thought I'd share.

Trace and Sydney are pretty much the best of friends. I can always catch them together getting into some kind of mischief, or just having fun. Here they are getting ready to run errands on Saturday. They were in the car like this when I came out to put Nash in, and we all had a good laugh. (You might want to double click it to get the full effect).

We babysat Cher yesterday, and as soon as she got to our house, Sydney and I knew what she had to do. Dress up just like Cher! So, she did and they were pretty darn cute. I even tried to fix Syd's hair the same way, seeing as how they about the same amount.

What's wrong Cher? Don't like being malled by Sydney?
"Two little buddies!"
Nash, in turtle mode. Too cute!

Cousin's Camp

The past week was spring break and we (meaning Erin, Gina and I) decided to take the cousin clan to Utah's Hoogle Zoo. It was a beautiful day and we had a GREAT time! We even got a little sunburned, which is amazing being that it snowed the next day. You know what they say, if you don't like Utah weather, just wait 5 minutes, it'll change.

Anyway, here are a few cute pictures that I finally had to steal from Erin's blog. (you know I love ya Erin...hope you're having fun in St. George).

Here's a picture of the cousin's in JuJu's jungle room

And, here is the documented proof that, although Cher's foot is chubbier, Nash's foot is just as long (Cher is almost a year old). And, don't worry Cher, that was NOT a fat joke! You can still drink whole milk if you want.

Motherhood vs. Fatherhood

I have come to the sad reality that when it comes to fun, free time, coming and going as you please, and an overall a sweeter life, Dads take the Gold. Let me give you just one example of what I mean.

We have been planning a trip to St. George for the last 2 MONTHs. The day finally comes when we're supposed to go, but my anticipation of our trip was thwarted when Tyler informs me the day before that he is planning on going to the Jazz game Thursday night. So maybe, he suggested, I should try to go down with Chris and Erin. He'll meet us in St. George on Friday--early afternoon, he claims. Hmmmmm, that sounds awesome for
YOU! I'll just pack up three kids, clothes, toys, sunscreen, snacks, and all the other supplies that are necessary for a family of 5, and head on down. Cara-vanning with Chris & Erin will make it sooooo much easier on ME. Thanks for the suggestion.

So, as I have been stewing over my predicament today, I've come to the reality of it all: being at home all day with 3 kids, feeding them, wiping butts, playing games, refereeing fights, nursing every 3 hours, whipping up spaghetti-o's for dinner and printing off pictures to color before I try to put them to bed at 5:30 p.m. (do you think that's too early?), is not quite as enjoyable as going out to a delicious, quiet, kid-free dinner with your newly dubbed boyfriend, Will, and hitting the Jazz game after work. What I get to do when I'm done with "work" is,......well, clean the kitchen still dirty from last night, fold laundry from 2 days ago, feed Nash, again, and to mix it up a little, catch up on some bill paying.

All I'm saying is, I wish I had the freedom to call Tyler and say, "I don't feel like being Mom today, so take care of everything and I'll snuggle up to you when I get home." Is that too much to ask?

Ok, now, I am very sorry that some of you have fallen victim to this random rant, but I do feel much better now. My venting is now over, and I hold no grudge because Tyler is great father and husband 99% of the time. He just happens to also be a male...lucky him.
I also would like to say that I love being a mom and I love my children dearly, so please don't get the wrong idea. It's just been one of those days!!!

As for the St. George trip, we'll try again another time. I was kinda getting used to the snow anyway.

P.S. I hope the Jazz lose, badly.

Fun Jackson moments...

Trace was outside playing in our GiNorMous dIRt pIt yesterday. I came out to take a picture and this is what he was so excited to tell me:

"Mom look!!! It's our first piece of grass!!!"

Yesterday, I took the kids to the health dept. to get vaccines. Unfortunately, Sydney was way overdue for one of her shots. And, in my mind, I'm picturing myself holding a screaming Syd down for her shot while trying to keep track of wandering Trace and holding Nash's binky in his mouth with my elbow. So naturally, I asked Tyler to accompany me to help with the whole ordeal. Tyler took a separate car so he could go to work afterwards.

As we are driving to the HD, I decide to tell Sydney
what was about to go down. As I'm telling her that she and Nash are getting shots, Trace is continuously saying, Syd and Nash need shots, but I don't need a shot, do I mom? (once again Trace, no, you don't need a shot today). So, I'm trying to explain to Sydney what a shot is, and I had an epiphany. I decided to tell her it's like medicine--music to little Sydney's ears!!! The girl LOVES her some meds!

So, we get to the HD and as I'm filling out the paperwork, Syd is pacing and repeating, rather loudly,
"Can I get my shot now?" Everyone in the waiting room keeps chuckling as she says it over and over and over . Then, we get to the nurse who says, why do you want to get a shot? Sydney announces, "So we can get out of here!" Makes sense to me. So, Sydney gets her shot (I probably didn't even have to hold her because she didn't even FLINCH) and we got out of there!! A dum dum sucker was all she wanted after the shot, and I was the only one stressed!

By the way, some of you may be wondering, what happened to Tyler
?? Apparently, aliens abducted him for 20 minutes, erased his memory and dropped him off at Disneyland. That would have been a much better story than "I got distracted talking on my phone and just drove to my office on auto-pilot." Because that's a lame excuse. Honey, I forgive you.

Here's one more great Sydney story from today:

We took the whole family to Park City
to do some shopping at the outlets. While we were in Old Navy, we walked by a teenager who was Hispanic. Sydney casually says "Hola!" Not once, but twice "Hola!!!" Sadly, this young amigo didn't hear her, because I'm sure if he did, he would have chatted with her for hours in Spanish. Sydney is very P.C.

Here's a little post for the Nash-meister:
Mommy loves you so much because you slept for 9 hours last night! You're my boy BLUE!

Happy Birthday to...

Uncle Jon! Happy 26th Birthday! You are a stud (Just check out the picture) and we love you lots! Hope you have a great day!

Also, a little shout out to Nash. He's 7 weeks old today and doing great. He weighs around 13 lbs. (WOW!) and he's sleeping like a champ at night. Last night he did 8 hours straight then slept for another 4 after that. What more can a momma ask for? He smiles all the time now, and here's a few attempts of us trying to catch him in the act. If I only had a "point and shoot" camera, ahhh the moments I could preserve.

Enough is Enough

All I'm going to say is, I've had enough of the snow. I'm starting a support group called SNOW, SNOW it's time for you to GO!. Anyone is allow to join. Only negative comments about snow will be allowed. Yes, Tyler, your little pessimist is alive and thriving.

Take a Picture...

My sis-in-law, Erin, just got a fancy new camera, so we had a little photo session with Nash this morning. I think we did pretty good. I really wanted to get a pic of him smiling, but no such luck...yet! I also threw in my favorite picture of Trace when he was 2 wks old. See any similarity?

Zzzzzzzzzz...

All 3 of my children are taking naps right now!!!
This will probably be my favorite post ever, even though I should probably be spending this free time taking a nap myself. This is the first they've all 3 had naps at the same time since Nash was born. IT IS THE BEST AFTERNOON EVA! Trace rarely takes naps, and today I told him he had to have quiet time (which usually ends up with him incessantly asking me to play with him...so today I explained to him that quiet time is actually the time where no one can talk to mommy.) Do you think it worked??? Of course not! I finally gave in and told him I'd read him some books after I was done talking to Weezie on the phone. When I hung up the phone, I went up stairs only to discover Trace had put himself down for a nap. Sydney has been asleep for about an hour and it's Nash's first nap in his own room. He's in his crib sleeping on a bean bag...hey I do whatever works when it comes to sleeping. I don't know what to do with myself right now. I love it!!!! Free at last free at last thank God Almighty I AM FREE for a few more minutes!

It's interesting how a crib looks like a prison from this angle.
