We are so blessed to have this new little (ok, not so little) healthy baby in our family. My labor and delivery went very well. We arrived at the hospital around 7:30 am and were waiting to be admitted when another woman came in in REAL labor. Tyler started joking around saying, we were there first, why were they helping her and not us? To make matters even worse, we found out that my baby was due before hers! ERRONEOUS! Anyway, the point of that story was, I am so glad I was induced! My goal for this birth was for it to be as pain-free as possible...REAL REAL NICE! I got the epidural before any painful contractions started, so all was well. Now, if I could just get a nurse to find my vein the first time for the I.V., I'd really be good. Oh well!
After Nash was born and the shock of his dark brown hair wore off, we were moved to the recovery room. Tyler left to go get big brother and sister who were at Grandma JuJu's house. Trace & Sydney were not actually able to hold Nash because they'd both been sick. So, they got to look at him through the nursery window. They seemed to be fine with that. They finally got to meet him face-to-face (literally face-to-face while Sydney was having a coughing fit!) when we were leaving the hospital on Sunday. They came into the room while I was nursing him, and they were very curious about the what was going on. Later, Sydney said to me, "Can I feed the baby with my tummy?" It was pretty cute. Trace opted not to hold Nash in the hospital because he wanted to hold him in his "Cars" rocking chair. He stayed strong to his promise and finally settled into his chair when we got home, ready to hold the baby for 5 whole seconds.
We've been home now for 4 days and we're all adjusting. Aunt Erin kept Trace & Sydney the first day I was home which was so nice! Tyler was supposed to pick them up on his way home from work, but he forgot! So, we met Chris and Erin at a Red Robin and had dinner. Nash's first outing and he slept through the whole thing! Way to go buddy! On Tuesday, JuJu kept the kids, so I had another day of just holding Nash and loving every minute of it. Now it's Thursday and Trace, Sydney and I have been playing with their new toys that baby Nash brought them (Nash managed to make it to Wal-Mart before he arrived on Friday!). It's been non-stop fun around here! We love you baby Nash!
