Confession

I throw away all of my kids' artwork and pictures from preschool... I also chuck myriads of colorings, paintings, doodlings, and pasted artwork they produce on a daily basis.

All of them, gone.

Before you judge, let me explain myself. I am the de-clutter queen. I can't handle messes. You wouldn't know this about me if you came to my home unannounced, but when I do have time to clean, I get rid of EVERYTHING. And, it feels GOOD!

I have been caught and tried on several occasions by Trace and Sydney. I feel so bad when they walk over to me, crumpled artwork in hand, and ask if I know why their picture was in the trash. I hate to lie to them, so I think of it as more of a "dumb blond" response, "Ooops! how'd that happen?" One or two days later, it's back in the trash...the outside one.

So, in a minor attempt to right this wrong, I am going to scan some of their best pieces and post them for all y'all to see! They really are cute little artists, and I would categorize most of their work as "abstract". Happy viewing!

EXTREME WEATHER WARNING!

In case you haven't heard, the Palmetto Tree State got an INCH of snow today! Seeing as how I technically hail from SC, (born there and lived there twice), and much of my family resides there, I thought I'd share this little poem entitled,

"First Snow for the PT State in Probably a Very Long Time"

Hoooray! Hoooray!
Now I hope it goes away.
Because after Januar-ay,
It gets rather gay,
I hate to say.

I'm not a poet. Sorry about that.

Anyway, I'm glad y'all got to enjoy a dusting of the white stuff...meanwhile, here's what we did yesterday. I've finally embraced it.

A Flippin' Good Time

Last year for Christmas, my parents gave us a Flip Video camera. We have loved it!

The purpose of them giving us this camera was to shower them with cute video clips of their grandkids. I have not done very well at emailing them, so I am just going to post a few. The last one of Nash "walking" was requested by Grandma Weezie. Hope you enjoy!

Rainbows

The other day I was hanging out in the playroom with Trace. I was just minding my own business when Trace all of a sudden goes,

"Mom, there's something under your eye!"
"What is it?" I inquired.
Trace informed me, "It's under both of your eyes...it looks like a rainbow."

Hmmm. I thought, what an interesting perspective from a 5-year old. Where I see aging eyes, long nights, "serious baggage", or poor under-eye genes, Trace sees a rainbow!

So, from now on, forget the cover-up, I'm calling 'em rainbows.

Thanks, Trace!
